Mastery Based Learning

-Our students must demonstrate understanding of both core and special subjects by completing student-scored activities, checkups, and a self-test to reveal weak areas and determine readiness for the final pace tests.

-Students must demonstrate competency by passing subject exams with a minimum passing grade of 80%.

-Students do not progress to the next level of paces without this minimum passing grade, allowing students to focus efforts on understanding, comprehension, and mastery of skills.

-This focus of building academic skill upon skill helps students establish a solid foundation for learning and achieving.

-This approach helps us to build students that are truly ready to take on new tasks and subject skills instead of forcing students into subject matter they are not equipped for, and requires students to consistently meet the bar instead of passing students that do not meet academic standards.

Character Building

-One of the major tenets of the ACE program is that moral development is just as crucial as academic success.

-As such, every pace centers around traits such as self-discipline, diligence, compassion, responsibility, commitment, and honesty, and uses comic strips, stories, and Scripture memory verses to show students how to apply that specific value in real life situations.

-Due to the fact that students must self-pace, self-test, and self-score on a daily basis, learning and embracing sound character traits are essential to their development and success in an individualized learning environment.

-Rather than just preparing students solely for academic success, we strive to instill the values needed for students to develop a strong moral compass, preparing and equipping them to navigate everyday life situations and the challenges of adulthood.

Biblical Integration

-We believe that faith and learning significantly complement one another.

-Rather than limiting biblical instruction to Bible class, we encourage students to see God's truth reflected throughout every area of learning.

-Scripture, Christian character, and a biblical worldview are woven into our educational environment, helping students grow academically, spiritually, and personally as they learn at their own pace.

Individualized Education

-An individualized education approach shifts the focus on the unique needs and pacing of students.

-All students are given diagnostic testing before admission to the learning center, allowing students to place into the appropriate subject content according to individual ability rather than being pushed forward or restrained by their age.

-Once students are prescribed curriculum based on their performance or diagnosed level of academic achievement, they progress to the next pace level at their own pace, allowing them to slow down to grasp difficult concepts or quickly accelerate upon mastery of skills.

-We value each student’s uniqueness, individuality, and embrace an approach that focuses on the special needs, skills, knowledge, and abilities of each student.
